Frequently Asked Questions

Our Medical Assistant program is 22 weeks. The program includes 16 weeks of hybrid instruction, combining scheduled in-person skills labs with online coursework, followed by a 120-hour clinical externship. Students are given up to 6 weeks to complete the externship.

 

Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam. This is a nationally recognized certification that allows you to work as a Medical Assistant in Hawaiʻi and across the United States.

Yes. We coordinate externship placement with local partners so you can complete required clinical hours.

Yes. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification training is included as part of the program tuition. Students will complete BLS training during the course to help prepare for clinical settings and employer requirements.

Yes. Oahu Medical Academy offers flexible payment options, including full payment and monthly payment plans. 

Applicants must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Students must also provide a valid government-issued photo ID and complete the online application.
